Prohibition of AI Assistant Usage for Recording Medicare Sessions

National Government Services has observed a rise in attempts to use various AI assistants during NGS-hosted sessions. It is important to note that the CMS has a longstanding policy prohibiting the recording of any sessions conducted by the agency or by its MAC. NGS emphasizes this policy in every presentation. However, we have recently encountered the use of AI assistant recording services, which function similarly by capturing the event for future reference. Such programs and services are classified as session recordings and are strictly prohibited under the Medicare Program.

If a participant joins an NGS-conducted session with an AI assistant, we will terminate the connection. Participants are encouraged to reconnect using the authorized methods for the session once the AI assistant has been removed.
