2024 CMS Health Equity Services
The 2024 Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule expanded Medicare coverage by adding four services to the Medicare program for coverage. These services are to help further address the priorities of reducing disparities in health. CMS believes allowing these services will allow more time for physicians to better understand where patients may be experiencing concerns in these disparate areas that may not normally be covered during regular visits.
CMS introduced CTS, SDOH, CHI and PIN to the Medicare Program for physicians to provide for their patients and bill Medicare for payment.
National Government Services created specific YouTube videos that provide an overview for providers that includes what the benefits consist of, how to bill for the services and proper documentation for each service.
