Unnecessary Adjustments for Part B Claims

A recent transition process at the Medicare Part B system maintainer has resulted in unnecessary and inappropriate Part B claim adjustments, impacting all MACs nationwide. This issue started to occur in the 7/26/2024 cycle.

NGS is notifying Part B providers that the problem has been fully identified and research is in progress to stop any further unnecessary adjustments from being created. No further details are available through our PCC.

No provider actions are indicated at present. If any claim adjustments include overpayment assessments, providers are advised to refer to their demand letters for next steps. 

We request that providers refrain from any actions to resubmit these claims and continue to monitor this site for ongoing updates.
