National Government Services - Telehealth Extension 2025

Section 3207 of the American Relief Act, 2025 modified Section 1834(m) of the Social Security Act to extend the waiver of the geographic, site of service, and practitioner type restrictions until 3/31/2025.

Based on this guidance, National Government Services will continue to pay claims with dates of service 1/1/2025 through 3/31/2025 with the same flexibilities that were applied to telehealth and related services for 2024.

  1. Geographic location will not be limited to non-MSA (rural) areas for patients to receive telehealth. The patient may receive telehealth service regardless of their geographic location.
  2. Patients may continue to receive telehealth services within their home in place of an originating site for all services, not just behavioral health.
  3. No practitioner restrictions will be in place for providers that may render services via telehealth.
  4. Behavioral health waiver of required in person visits within six months prior to telehealth and every 12 months after the initiation of telehealth continue to be waived.

As mentioned, these flexibilities are extended through 3/31/2025.
