CLIA Number Processing Issue
National Government Services has been made aware of an issue with CLIA lab claims processing. CLIA numbers were not loaded through CWF, resulting in claim denials as CLIA did not match any file. We were informed that CWF initiated a fix late last week. After testing it was identified the CLIA numbers were showing properly in CWF.
Now that the issue is resolved, we’re awaiting word from CWF to identify when the issue began. Once that’s determined we’ll identify claims that denied inappropriately and work to initiate a mass adjustment for them.
You do not need to take any action however, the process of mass adjusting effected claims may take some time. If you prefer not to wait you may exercise the option to request a LVAM reopening request. Visit Reopening Versus Redetermination for more information. It is not required that you request a reopening as we will adjust denied claims.
Update 8/12/2024: It's been identified this issue occurred on claims that processed through the CWF from 7/19-7/24/2024. We are identifying effected claims and will adjust them over the next 30 business days.
