New Medicare Part B Redetermination Notice Initiative - Implementation Delayed

As we’ve communicated recently, National Government Services will be starting a new initiative for providers who submit Medicare Part B Redetermination requests using our portal, NGSConnex.

NGS will discontinue issuing paper MRNs for Medicare Part B redetermination requests that are submitted electronically through the NGSConnex portal. Instead, these MRNs will only be accessible to view and print electronically through NGSConnex. The original start date of 3/3/2025 has been delayed, we’ll announce a new implementation date very soon.

This initiative allows for faster delivery and better tracking of your decision letters while, reducing the use of paper, eliminating the need to mail hard-copy MRNs and streamlining Medicare Part B Redetermination communications.

Note: Beneficiaries will continue to receive a hard copy letter, as this change will only affect providers that submit the Part B Redetermination through NGSConnex portal. Additionally, if a Medicare Part B redetermination request submitted by a provider is received on paper through USPS or other means, the MRN will be mailed through USPS and is not impacted by this change.

In the meantime, we recommend our providers prepare for this new process. We’re continuing weekly webinars throughout March to review this initiative and provide education for using the NGSConnex portal to submit and view Medicare Part B Redetermination notices.
