Reminder: Billing and Coding for Implantable Automatic Defibrillators
An implantable automatic defibrillator is an electronic device designed to diagnose and treat life threatening ventricular tachyarrhythmias.
When you use specific ICD-10-CM codes in this policy, a dual diagnosis is required. ICD-10-CM codes I25.2, I25.5, I42.0, I42.6, I42.7, I42.8, and Z76.82 must be reported with a secondary diagnosis.
