EDI Front End Rejection Code Lookup Tool

The EDI Front End Rejection Code Lookup Tool is a simple to use tool that provides a clear and understandable description of edit codes returned on the 277 Claims Acknowledgement (277CA).

Using this tool is easy. Simply input the information returned on the 277CA STC segments into the tool.

For example:

A8:496:85

• Choose the CSCC from the drop down (A8)
• Fill in 1 to 3 CSCs. (496)
• If there is an EIC in the STC segment, it can be selected from the drop down selection. (85)
• Click Search and the results will be displayed below the tool window. 

Please note: This edit tool displays edit descriptions for either Part A or Part B errors. To change the line of business for the errors you can view, please return to the NGS home page (click on the NGS logo at the top of the screen) and sign in as a Guest, using the appropriate line of business in the “I am a…” drop down and follow the prompts. You must then navigate back to the EDI Front End Rejection Code Lookup Tool and you will be able to access the edit descriptions for the line of business you chose.
