2020 Changes Driven by You – National Government Services Self-Service Tools
We are committed to improving your experience while using our secure self-service tools which includes our NGSConnex portal, our NGSMedicare.com website and our IVR System. Each day, we review comments from providers who submit surveys to let us know what is working well and how we can improve. We appreciate your feedback and are excited to share with you all the enhancements we were able to make this year because of you:
NGSConnex Portal
- Streamlined the Claim Search Panel so users are only required to enter the MBI, but may also narrow the search by entering a date of service or a span of dates
- Eliminated navigation buttons from the claim search panel and moved them to the Claim Summary panel to eliminate confusion
- Improved Eligibility in many ways:
- Created a panel to display PPV details, including procedure code and description, date of service and NPI of the performing provider
- Added HPV vaccine information to the Preventive Services panel
- Updated the Inpatient/SNF spell panel to include inpatient and SNF stay information separately and the NPI of the associated provider
- Updated Home Health information to include patient status code and description
- Updated the MBI Lookup Tool to display MBI information for deceased beneficiaries with a date of death within the previous four years
- Updated the eligibility panel to auto-populate beneficiary demographic information (First Name, Last Name, DOB, MBI) when the user first initiates an MBI Lookup and navigates to complete an eligibility search.
- Updated the MBI Lookup feature to auto-populate beneficiary demographic information (First Name, Last Name, DOB, NPI) when the user first enters the required information through an eligibility inquiry and then navigates to the MBI Lookup feature
- Clarified the messages that display for suspended accounts to include consistent and clear instructions so that you can now easily resolve the suspension

- Improved the display of information for the Fee Schedule Lookup Tool
- Upgraded the EDI section by dividing content into two sub-sections: EDI Enrollment and EDI Solutions to make it easier to find content you are looking for.
- Improved the Education section to reorganize the menu and highlight new content for quick access
- Improved the home page so all visitors enter as a guest instead of registering and providing login information
IVR
- Implemented a new timesaving feature called Fast Track Access that allows callers to obtain a daily IVR fast track code to bypass provider authentication after authenticating the NPI, PTAN and TIN the first time each day.
- Added a new Part A Reason Code Lookup feature that plays a description of the reason code
