Responding to an Additional Documentation Request
Most recently, National Government Services has experienced an increasing volume of 56900 denials: medical records not submitted upon receipt of an ADR. In response to the lack of submission of requested medical record documentation, the NGS Part A, HH+H SMEs will be hosting a live educational session regarding submission of appropriate medical records and clinical documentation requirements upon receipt of an ADR. This informational session will highlight the ADR, submission of medical record documentation, utilization of NGSConnex when responding to an ADR, navigating FISS and other helpful hints, references and resources, as well as a brief question and answer period with the SMEs at the end of the session.
This session is designed for the large and small Part A provider type, including HH+H providers, within JK and J6. Staff members who should attend include hospital, SNF, acute and post-acute care facility, HH+H administrative staff, CEO, CFO, CMO, billing, compliance, quality, clinicians, physicians, NPs, PAs, CNSs, therapists (PT, OT, SLP), case managers, nursing staff, social workers, and any other staff who documents within the patient medical record, collects information to submit when a medical record is requested, reviews the medical record for auditing purposes, submits claims, or responds to medical record requests (ADRs) from Medicare.
