Attention Home Health Agencies – Reminder on Requests for Anticipated Payment in 2020
The Home Health Final Rule for calendar year 2020 finalized the guidelines for billing RAPs under the PDGM and some changes in the way RAPs are being processed and reimbursed effective 1/1/2020. This is to serve as a reminder of the information CMS has published regarding RAP billing and processing:
- ALL home health agencies are required to bill a RAP at the beginning of each 30-day period of care under PDGM
- The split percentage payment for the RAP will be 20 percent of the estimated final payment for all 30-day periods of care (initial and subsequent) for providers eligible to receive RAP payments in 2020
- HHAs newly enrolled in Medicare on or after 1/1/2019 will not receive split percentage payments on RAPs beginning CY 2020
- Data fields and billing instructions required for a RAP are not changing
- Please visit the HHA Center page on CMS’ website or our website for more information
