NGSConnex Security Requirements
Privacy and security of provider information and patient health information is a top priority for CMS and due to that we are required to adhere to the following security requirements associated with NGSConnex, our self-service portal.
Timeouts Due to Inactivity
If you are logged into NGSConnex and are inactive for 30-minutes or more your account will timeout and you are required to log back in.
Account Suspension Due to Inactivity
In order to have online access to Medicare beneficiary protected health information via NGSConnex, you must, at a minimum, access the portal once every 30-days. Otherwise, your account will be suspended.
Password Changes
You are required to change your NGSConnex password at least once every 60-days. If you incorrectly enter a password three times within two hours your account will be temporarily locked and you will not be able to use the ‘Change/Forgot my Password’ link to reset it for a period of time.
