Expedited Requests

The requester may submit for an expedited review of the PAR if it is determined that a delay could seriously jeopardize the beneficiary’s life, health, or ability to regain maximum function. If the medical documentation does not support an expedited review, the request will be subject to the standard timeframe of ten business days. Whether the PA OPD team substantiates or unsubstantiates the need for an expedite decision, the requester will be informed of the status of the expedited request within two business days of receipt.
