Get Help with Rejected/Denied Enrollment Application
The CMS IOM Publication 100-08, Medicare Program Integrity Manual, Chapter 10 and 15 gives reasons for when an enrollment application should be rejected or denied. If you encounter a rejection/denied circumstance you have several ways to get help with finding out why the application was not approved and how to remedy the situation.
Determine the Application Status
You can use our Check Provider Enrollment Application Status to find out if your enrollment application has been rejected or denied. If it has been rejected or denied, a reason will be given.
Understand Rejection or Denial
- Rejected Application – There are a number of reasons for an application to be rejected but, most often it is because there was something missing from the application forms or required documentation. Once you have rectified the situation, you can resubmit the enrollment application.
- Denied Application –In this instance you will need to resolve the issue that resulted in the denial prior to resubmitting your application.
Follow the instructions on the rejected/denial letter prior to resubmission.
Contact the Provider Enrollment Call Center under Contact Us to ask questions.
