Provider Enrollment Application Process Timeline
All MACs, including National Governments Services, have a goal to finalize an Internet-based PECOS application within 15 days and a CMS-855 paper application within 30 days, if all required information is available.
About the Application Process
- An acknowledgment notice with a case number will be faxed, mailed or emailed from NGS-PE-Communications@elevancehealth.com to the contact on the submitted application.
- If additional documentation is needed, a request will be faxed, mailed or emailed to the contact giving 30 days to respond.
- When all information is available, application will go through a series of steps before the final step of completion.
- The contact can follow the status of the application by calling the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System or link to the Check Provider Enrollment Application Status.
- Institutional and certified providers may see approval recommendation status.
-
- An approval recommendation letter is faxed, emailed or mailed to the contact person on the application, the SA and/or the CMS Survey and Operations Group (CMS SOG).
- All inquiries or questions for this status, should be directed to either the SA or the CMS SOG according to the contact information identified in the letter.
- Once the SA and/or CMS SOG approves and sends a tie-in notice to NGS and the provider, NGS will begin the final review process.
- Please allow up to five days after the application has finalized for the response letter to be received by fax, mail or email.
