Medicare Coverage Database
The Medicare Coverage Database is an administrative and educational tool to assist providers, physicians and suppliers in submitting correct claims for payment. The Medicare Coverage Database features LCDs developed by Medicare Contractors and NCDs developed by CMS. CMS requires that local policies be consistent with national guidance (although they can be more detailed or specific), developed with scientific evidence and clinical practice.
The quick search on the MCD allows users to search both the NCD and LCD databases using a variety of criteria such as keyword, diagnosis, procedure and date. The advanced search allows for additional filters if needed. You may access the MCD at: Medicare Coverage Database.
